The Endeavour Academy Partners Offers Teachers Professional Development Workshops

The Endeavour Academy, a professional development resource for Florida’s teachers, is offering three curriculum-enhancing workshops this spring. With limited availability, teachers are encouraged to sign-up immediately for “Rockets!”, “Eco-Adventure at Busch Gardens” and “Clearwater Marine Life Adventure.”

On Saturday, April 24 from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., teachers will learn how to build and launch rockets with students in the “Rockets!” workshop. Teachers will receive NASA educational information including lesson plans, posters, and the history of rockets, as well a $ 30.00 stipend. A registration fee of $ 10.00 will hold your seat.

“Eco-Adventure at Busch Gardens,” held May 7 through May 8 at Busch Gardens, Tampa, will offer teachers the opportunity to work alongside zookeepers and meet endangered species. Teachers will receive teaching guides, benchmarked curriculum, animal information and a $ 125 stipend. Registration is $ 250.

Florida teachers are invited to come assist biologists in hands-on research activities at the “Clearwater Marine Life Adventure” workshop on Saturday, May 15 from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. Teachers will study the flora and fauna of our local ecosystem and learn ways to bring marine science concepts to life in the classroom. Registration is $ 70.00 and participants receive a $ 60.00 stipend.

The Endeavour Academy is a teacher professional development resource offering science, math, technology, and reading content-based workshops and summer internships. The Academy delivers unique, hands-on training, using resources from the space program, high tech industry, and research institutions to help broaden teacher knowledge in the fields of math, science, technology, and reading. The Endeavour Academy was established by the Technological Research and Development Authority and is funded by grants from the US and Florida Departments of Education and revenue from the Challenger/Columbia License plate.
