This is a pictorial history of the city of St. Petersburg Florida. James Schnur starts off with a brief four page narrative history of the area from the time of the Native American fishermen to an evolving multi-cultured metropolis. The rest of the book is a collection of photographs, all of which are crisp and clear. Many of the older photos are a displayed along with a modern photo from the same site. The best part of this collection is the wonderful captions that not only describe the buildings, but some of the social and cultural significance of the location. These photos show a wide variety of places from both the downtown area, and the surrounding communities of Pinellas County.
