Ryan Realty is very excited to announce our Fifth Annual Sand Sculpting Contest, at Clearwater Beach, South of Pier 60 on Saturday, May 21st with a rain date of Sunday, May 22nd.
Registration is at 9:30 a.m. 11:00 a.m. and the judging will begin at around 12:30 p.m.
As always this is a free community event, and all are welcome. Kids of all ages will once again have an awesome time in creating their sand sculptures, and hoping to be awarded a trophy for their efforts. Everyone leaves a winner though; as Ryan Realty makes sure that each and every contestant is given a prize for participating. Our very popular kids bag is back with toys, and in our opinion, the best gift that weve ever had for adults!
Each year we attempt to make the contest bigger and better than the year before, and we are always striving to make the contest fair for everyone. This year we have added categories and adjusted others so that the trophies are better distributed for family size, etc.
Each and every year this contest gets more popular and there are more attendees. The more attendees that we have, the more creativity that we see occurring on the beach, and that is exciting for all. One of the more recent additions has been to add color to the sand sculptures. The only paint that is allowed is non-toxic, water based paint and that needs to be watered down to about 1 part of paint to about 12 parts of water. Put this in a spray bottle and you have a colorful addition to your sculpture! Props of all kinds are welcome as long as they are not dangerous, and dont pollute the beach.
One other way that sculptures have been presented, which is one of our favorites, is to have people incorporated into the sculpture. Kids sitting in a train, two men in a castle, and a girl lying on a sand hammock are a few examples weve seen so far.
Have you ever dreamed of making a sand sculpture? Now is your chance to make your sculpture a reality and have a heck of a lot of fun doing it! This is not a professional contest, and everyone is welcome to come out to Clearwater Beach to take a shot at winning a trophy!
