I lived on Fire Island for 13 Years, year round. As someone that has moved off the Island I enjoy this book because it covers the history of the Island. It has taught me tid bits of information that I have never heard. I really enjoyed this book because it respects the history, the origin of the Island. Kudos to Shoshanna McCullum for her thorough job of reporting and story telling on this mystical Island that many people from all over the world are intrigued by! Thank You!!

This book provided me with wonderful photos to rekindle my memories of Fire Island where I lived for 30 years.
It is a wonderful reflection on a unique barrier beach island where the history is interesting and historical.
    I am enjoying it!
