  1. Yes I took this video…..I was the one that found the dolphin on my
morning walk…..I called CMA and spoke to Hada!!! Hope he/she is feeling
better!!! I will never forget that day!!!

  2. The sea turtles are living now in better homes and no forever! Only the
sick ones! Please delete this video!

  3. It would be cool if people would use these types of videos to start a
fundraiser for an aquarium who does so much to rehab and release the
animals, instead of trying to defame them with uneducated BS…

  4. NO! Animals live there but not FOREVER! They stay there for a while and
then CMA team go them back to the wild. Winter and Hope cant servive in the
wild so they will stay there because Winter has no tail and Hope cant live
without her mother. But they have so much fun and there are new pools for
them. CMA is a rescue team

  5. Also, just a comment I saw from you earlier (yes I’m going back now and
reading comments I was curious and I’m perfectly allowed to do that) “Did
Hope really grow up in six weeks (so he could be introduced to Panama)?”
Um, this is dolphin years, kinda like how e see dog years so that dogs can
be mature at 2-3 years old, so even more can happen with the near human
intelligent dolphins, I”d argue even MORE SO that Hope could have very
well matured enough in six “short” weeks for humans but probably a really
long time for dolphins because THEY’RE NOT HUMANS, THEY LEARN IN THEIR OWN
TIME RANGES AND A LOT OF THE TIME ITS MUCH FASTER THAN US HUMANS. and even
then, kids with good training can learn to kick drug habits in less time,
I’ve seen it and been through it before, and yet a relatively normal and
healthy dolphin like Hope can’t grow mature enough to spend a bit of time
with an older dolphin in six “short weeks” that are probably the equivalent
of months to us? again, I’m definitely no dolphin expert, I just know what
I can look up and I haven’t really focused intensively on dolphins or even
animals for a while, but yeah it is plausible that hope could’ve been too
immature when you saw him and been mature enough six weeks later to start
spending time with Panama, again it goes back to my humanized dolphin
analogy of Hope the child learning to calm down some of that energy so he
can start visiting old deaf lady Panama to see if they’re a good match,
that’s not only not a bad tactic but EXACTLY WHAT SHOULD BE DONE, hell I
wish they would’ve tried something like that with poor little tilly instead
of just throwing him in like “now you guys play nice even though you met
and have been abused and know nothing about each other, ya hear?”

  6. Well the stingrays now have sand in their pool, which is one of the better
pools for rays I have seen compared to other places that have shallow pools
with too many rays in it. Also Clearwater Marine Aquarium was strictly run
by volunteers pre-movie. Their funds were low and the attention the movie
brought to the aquarium helped fund improvements. They did not receive
money for making the movie other than what they lost while being shut down
(minimal guest revenue), this is a NON-PROFIT. As for the tanks being murky
and having algae, I’m sorry but do dolphins in the wild swim in water that
would not have these things? I think not. Do they have a roof over them
either in the wild? No. Being exposed to “the elements” as in the case of
Nicholas is no different than what a dolphin in the wild would be exposed
to. These pools all meet federal regulations for size. For the turtles that
were just floating there…they cant sink! They float due to a buoyancy
disorder from boat strikes or other injuries to their carapace which air is
now trapped in. CMA does not do shows so people will pay to see animals
flip around, they give presentations to inform people what they can do so
dolphins don’t end up in the situation of the ones there and what we can do
to protect our oceans. Panama begged for food from boaters in the wild,
they fed her and she became dependent because she was “deaf” meaning she
couldn’t use echolocation to find her food. Hope was too young at the time
to put her with the others, and Nicholas is a boy, all the other dolphins
at the aquarium are girls…….they don’t want to breed them which is why
they are not together!! There is just so many things wrong with this video
that if you were other wise educated would know. While you were there maybe
you should have asked some meaningful questions as to the situation. I know
this video is old because Panama has now been passed for some time, hope is
growing, and things look very different. Please become educated and do your
research before making another video like this. Maybe go back and see the
good they are doing for saving the lives of countless marine life and the
inspiration they (and Winter, Nicholas. Hope, and the other resident
animals) give to people who need it.

  7. Also, with the Panama and Winter “spending most of their time apart” okay,
I’m no dolphin expert, and even for the probably like thirty minutes max
you spent observing them (and that’s really giving you some leeway in
assuming you’re that patient) and just being like “omg they’re not right
next to each other, these dolphins are miserable!” lolz even dolphins don’t
spend every waking moment swimming next to each other, and thirty minutes
max of a 24 hours day of you observing them and concluding they never swim
together is just…..kinda biased, sorry. Also, just me giving human
qualities to dolphins for a second like we do with most animals (I hate
this tactic but I’m doing it with very harmless effects right now so bear
with me) Panama is a deaf old lady dolphin and Winter is a disabled
dolphin who can’t swim all that well without the famous artificial tale,
which she can’t wear all the time because it irritates her skin and we
don’t know enough yet to improve those conditions unfortunately. Can you
imagine being Winter and just struggling to even keep up with old lady
Panama, calling to her all the day and then getting frustrated cuz she’s
deaf but you don’t realize she is so you think she’s just ignoring
you? Most people would be like “well fine old lady I’ll leave you alone
since you won’t talk to me, more trouble than it’s worth”, some of them
might even attack Panama or be mean to her out of frustration but as far as
I know Winter’s done none of this. Or imagine if your Panama just trying
to get around the pool being death and having this other strange dolphin
who can barely swim just following you around and making noises you can’t
hear, if I was Panama I might just see Winter as some weird younger dolphin
I’m not really interested in playing with. Enter even younger Dolphin hope,
who is relatively normal dolphin expect he can’t survive in the wild cuz he
doesn’t know how at all and can’t be taught, but he’d still probably just
annoy the other two disable dolphins like “hey lets play, let’s play!” like
some type of puppy or young child who doesn’t know not to just be so hyper
and active around disable people, and he’d probably get so frustrated with
the other two just not able to keep up with him due to their own
disabilities not caused by Clearwater that he might even turn aggressive
towards them and attack, and that’d be really bad. Much rather just let
Hope grow up then have him in a Tilikum situation where the other dominant
females hurt him because they can’t cope with all the differences they all
share, again it’s like putting a hyper grade school kid in with a teen with
no legs who sometimes gets to roll around in a wheelchair but for the most
part has to just crawl and a deaf old lady who’s just trying to make it as
best she can with no sound and expecting them all to just automatically get
along and be happy for it. I’m not saying it’s not possible, but that and
the current size of the tanks just has me convinced “well can we at least
let Clearwater expand first and Hope grow up and mature a little bit and
THEN try to introduce them all?” but maybe I’m wrong, Idk, if I am I’d
really like to know so just tell me, I’m not even gonna get upset.

  8. The problem with Clearwater is that they’re poor, unlike wealthy Seaworld
they’re not just rolling in cash to make the renovations they need, they’re
struggling to even keep their operating at all (and hell yes they need to
keep operating, the work they do with just their limited fund to
rehabilitate and rescue wild animals as compared to wealthy Seaworld giving
crumbs of its wealth to other charities to “keep a good image” matters)
instead of just condemning Clearwater as “oh they’re doing a horrible job,
lets shut them down!” then what’s gonna happen to the dolphins like Winter
and Panama who can’t survive in the wild? I’m definitely not saying
Clearwater is all right for these conditions, but I know they’re heart is
in the right spot, they just can’t do any better, and like others are
saying in the comments below, theyre finally starting to get money so they
can fix their conditions. What we need to do is switch SeaWorld’s funding
with Clearwater’s so profit driven SeaWorld shuts down and the actual “we
care about the animals” organization can just expand like crazy. “well why
    don’t you donate/do something?” I really, really wish I could, but I’m a
recently turned 18 year old unemployed English major who lives in NC and
can’t travel down to FL to do something and even if I did try to intern,
it’s not my field of sepciality so I’m probably just a liability even if I
could go down and get the job. Wish I could donate too, but again I’m an
unemployed college student who gets an allowance/loan (cuz I will be paying
it back as soon as I get a job my parents love to inform me) from my
parents but no other income sources to even try to fund them, but I have
been saving up chucnks of the money i’m given so that I CAN donate it to
    the society.
I’m definitely anti captivity and have been since I was a kid but I do see
the point of places like Clearwater and it upsets me that people are just
like “fuck Clearwater is worse than SeaWorld!” No, no, and no again,
    Clearwater just needs cash.

  9. What is your alternative for cetaceans that cannot be released? That they
be killed on the spot? Yes, I would prefer the enclosures to be far larger,
but I know that CMA has a renovation in the works that should greatly
increase the size of the dolphin enclosure. The only animals that are
permanent residents are the ones that aren’t releasable (per government
regulations). Over the years, a good number of dolphins and sea turtles
have been successful released back into the wild by CMA.

  10. I am completely aware of what ignorant means, and I DID read the
description, just misunderstood it, A misunderstanding is NOT ignorance.

  11. That’s called prejudice and discrimination. Aren’t you glad that others
(myself included) are ready and willing to treat you fairly and with
respect? Why wouldn’t you afford them the same right?

  12. I don’t understand….if Winter’s spine was being damaged because of her
abnormal motion because of having no tail, why wasn’t her prosthetic tail
on her? Seems to me that they wouldn’t want any further damage done to her
    spine.

  13. I went there about 20 years ago or more, and it is nothing like they
probably tell you it is in Dolphin Tale(which I have not seen). I remember
the ugly blue barren tanks. I also remember a sick looking turtle floating
around, and my Dad even asked a staff member about the turtle and the guy
said ‘oh he’s ok don’t worry about him’ something to that affect

  14. Are you excited to see these animals in poor living conditions? You do not
love orcas at all. You just love to see these poor animals perform fucking
tricks for you and your ignorant friend shamurocks.

  15. This is what human beings do for money. They do not care about the
suffering of any other species than their own. EVERYTHING is for their
pleasure, no matter or fleeting, or hurtful it may be to the other species.
Under the guise of rehabilitation or conservation?! Yea right, in a
concrete tank with filthy water! Don’t buy tickets to captive cetacean
    attractions!

  16. How about putting them in sea pens in the actual ocean where there are
sands, rocks, seaweed, currents, waves, fish and other dolphins? The ocean
cannot be replicated in a painted blue box.

  17. CMA only keeps animals that cannot be released into the wild. A good number
of both dolphins and sea turtles have been successfully rehabbed and
released over the years. Winter’s lack of a tail should make it obvious why
she wouldn’t survive, Panama is deaf and her teeth are worn to nubs, and
both Hope and Nicholas were orphaned too young to know how to hunt. Yes,
the tanks are small. However, the last I heard, renovations were underway
    to correct that problem.

  18. It’s unfortunate that people are SO against not having cetaceans in
captivity anymore. The vast majority of them wont even listen or reason
with the opposing side. I hope there comes a day when we stop forcing
dolphins and whales to perform silly tricks for our entertainment.

  19. This place is an absolute disgrace. It should be closed down. As for
keeping dolphins in captivity it is animal cruelty at the highest level –
these are highly intelligent, self aware, social animals that swim hundreds
of miles a day. India, in addition to few other countries, has declared
dolphins as “non-human” persons. Scientists agree and have a petition
on-line for a Declaration of Rights for Cetaceans. It is hardy a petty war!
Millions around the world are fighting to end this!

  20. You’d think they would renovate the place or at least fix some things after
the movie. I’m sure they got a hefty amount of the profit. You can’t
possibly keep a dolphin entertained in a lifeless blue box. I’d be
surprised if they haven’t gone insane yet. And poor Winter! Obviously she
can’t be released, but for crying out loud put her and the other dolphins
in a sea pen. They’re on the Florida coast, it’s not like it would be
    terribly difficult.

  21. Also Panama and Hope didn’t meet so long ago when you came. With the
activities, not every dolphin or sea creature has to be doing something
right before your eyes. With Panama, you said “most” of the time with her
eyes closed, it’s sorta obvious to tell that she was sleeping. They do keep
their tanks clean, I saw divers in the morning early, at least 3 constantly
cleaning the bottom of the tank for each tank. If it was bad for the
dolphins to live their then the it would be closed down…

  22. And I know that some of these animals could live in a sea pen just fine,
I’m just saying the ones like Winter. Sea pens are unrealistic from a
veterinary point of view. But that being said.. I do hope they get to build
the bigger facility and add some enrichment in it so she has more room and
a better exhibit. Any ways, sorry for bothering you.

  23. Also you sure it’s going to be *bigger empty boxes*? From the looks from
the pictures they show a huge tank and will put all three dolphins
together. (Once when Winter and Hope meet soon)
