A cell phone video apparently shows a Pinellas County sheriff’s deputy using force to arrest two men on St. Pete Beach.

Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri and Sgt. Bryan Bingham spoke during a press conference in reference to the St. Pete Beach video. The video shows Sgt. Bingham arresting two subjects who were fighting on the beach and resisted arrest.

  1. I think we all know that if those men were black, this video would have
over a million hits and be on the evening news with the officer’s conduct
in question… Such unfortunate times we live in. The officer showed great
judgement in use of force and restrained the two detained individuals
    accordingly.

  2. Holy shit, that guy is strong…Maybe I would say it was more brutal that
it was needed, but maybe I’m just used to different behaviour by police in
    my country.

  3. If the two guys were black, they’d be a group of protestors chanting black
lives matter. Than the low life media would interview the parents and
they’d say, “my son ain’t never hurt no one.”

  4. Officer acted appropriately. Clearly almost EVERY person on that beach was
intoxicated (at last the ones that were starting $h!t). The officer was all
alone, and in a hostile and drug-influenced crowd.

Don’t be a sheep. Respect the sheep dogs.

  5. Both of the people arrested have a very long list of felonies and getting
arrested this time wasn’t their first rodeo. They should know better than
to not comply with a police officer. They got treated appropriately. Good
    job Sergeant Bingham.

  6. Youth of modern day America. Drunk, stupid and full of themselves. God
bless the peacemakers, and damn the sheep who follow after this sin cursed
    world. INRI

  7. Lol at the guy “tapping out”.

Nope! You don’t get to tap…you’re just gonna have to deal with this
    ass-whooping.

Good job to the cop and the kids who helped detain those punks.

  8. All I see in these comments are bah bah I’m a sheep, granted nobody died
but that’s only because the second guy gave the cop someone else to focus
on, the first guy was out before he was on the ground, last I checked a
choke hold isn’t proper procedure and considered deadly force, now to those
of you who say the cop was careless with his weapon, unless you know how to
remove the gun from this type of holster you can’t

  9. Regardless of all the comment by the armchair experts I think the cop did
an oustanding job with the application of enough force to restrain and
    detain both idiots.

  10. Until such time as you have to break up a fight between two to three
hundred drunks your not in the position to judge his actions he still has
to be able to go home to his own family. He has every right to protect
himself he doesn’t know who’s gonna jump out of that crowd and attempt to
snatch his side arm.People of today really have no respect. This is why
drinking in public is illegal so technically many of the crowd could of
been arrested. I sleep better at night knowing that SGT. Bingham is a
    deputy in MY county.

  11. One day they will look back at this video and say to themselves “cocaine
was a hell of a drug” in my Rick James voice lmfao…. Good Job to that
    Deputy!!!

  12. Think about the totality of the circumstances . 2 drunk beach goers
fighting while on spring break with other drunk people. These guys are
douche bags with a long criminal history who are more than likely known to
law enforcement around there. Easily escalating and needs to be stopped. To
get back up could have taken a long time. It was a niw ur ever situation.
He put the guy in a sleeper hold which is not lethal unless you take it to
far. It is an impedance tactic taught in the academy. As far as taking the
first guy down. Guy is drunk , sweaty, and full of sand. It is hard to grab
a hold of someone in those conditions. As far as the gun, that is a level
three retention. You have to in hook find two concealed buttons to get the
gun out if the holster. He showed restraint. That second guy was being a
threat. This was actually a perfect scenario of what to do.
