ful. Here can be seen all that is possible in sub-trop-ical gardening, and the resultant lovely riot offlower and leaf is a revelation to northerners andto Floridians themselves. A little to the north of the hotels on the edgeof Lake Worth is the pretty, low, ramblingbuilding of the Beach Club. Membership inthis may be obtained for short periods by non-residents of Florida who have the necessary in-troductions. The restaurant is a famous one. There are numerous experts in good eating whocall it the best in America. Lunch on the flower-embowered veranda and dinner in the pleasantindoor room are the height of fashion in PalmBeach, and the club during the short time it iskept open is gay in the manner of a Continen-tal casino, games and amusements being pro-vided as at foreign winter resorts on the Medi-terranean. The club is under the direction ofthe Messrs. Bradley, by whom, it is interestingto note, was furnished in all good faith the back-ing for several of Dr. Cooks polar expeditions.
