I always enjoy unusual physical settings, and the action in this story takes place mainly on a small island in the Florida keys, as well as a government research laboratory on the mainland, and in the bars of the local tourist areas. Everything is described realistically, the people are authentic and the plot is superb. Really enjoyed this story. Particularly appreciated how a former marine, raised in foster homes, became a marine research scientist and therefore was in a great position to stand up to two sets of criminals! A satisfying yarn.

This a very well written narrative. If not writing from experience, this author did their homework and put together a believable set of precarious circumstances that were so compelling that I was driven to keep reading in several sections. The suspense was well carried out; the results at the apex of each impending disaster both satisfying and realistic; the ending…realistic as well! I liked this book very much…well worth reading.

Some really horrible dialogue, stupid overdone plot and boring to boot. Men don’t go around calling women “hon” and “sweety” and the like, not if they don’t want to sound ridiculous. This is the first book I’ve read by this author. I don’t think ill attempt anymore.
