They come unassembled with the shades collapsed. The shades feel like a thin canvas-like nylon material. Each light has a plastic insert around it that goes inside the shade after you unfold them. It took me a good 30 minutes to put all the shades on and requires you to sort of bend the plastic insert on each light to go into holes on the shade to hold the shades on. By the time I was done my fingers were a little sore, so be aware there is some assembly here.
I receive a lot of things at a discount in exchange for reviews, and I asked for a discounted sample of these specifically because I just love mood lighting. They came fully charged and lasted at least five hours on that charge (they were still on when I went to bed). The solar panel has been getting a decent amount of direct sun today so I’m anxious to see how long they last off a day’s solar charging, and will update my review when I’ve tested that more thoroughly.
EDIT: It is now several months since I hung these over my kitchen door valance with the solar panel run out the corner of the door and put on the roof. I haven’t touched them so they’ve been on every night since, and they still stay lit up until after I go to bed, even through the winter months though they would begin to dim out after several hours as is expected during months with less daylight. Now that the time has changed, they stay on at their full brightness almost all night. Can’t say that about a lot of solar products.

|Beautiful, Quality, Solar, Fairy Lights!,
The adjustable solar panel (with steak) that these lights get their power from has just been sitting in my window and can move to accommodate the direction of the sun on the shadiest side of our house and still gather energy! Very impressive! It’s just Amazing that it’s been plenty of sunlight to power these lights all night because it’s not “Direct Sun” (I turned them on at 7 pm and they are still on and it’s 6 am). There is also an on/off as well as an Auto switch with these lights, unlike others I’ve purchased in the past that didn’t have a switch and just turned on and off on their own accord! The batteries included are Innoo Tech Solar (Rechargeable) Light Batteries and a they have manganese element, which are added into the Innoo Tech Solar Light Batteries to make the batteries chargeable in the Winter. The light string is waterproof and can be used inside or out! It’s 15ft long and consists of 20 LED fairy lights, and with the lantern gloves attached, give off a nice, soft (yet bright enough) warm glow! Perfect for ambiance! They will be awesome around the bar at my daughters wedding, as she will be using larger Chinese Lanterns throughout her decorating scheme. These will be just beautiful & a nice classy touch!
The lights do come unassembled, so you will need some time & patience to get them together. The globe (lanterns) to the lights are made of fairly durable nylon like material, (not your typical Chinese lantern) so, I was extremely impressed by the durable quality of these lights & wasn’t as afraid of ripping the material as I have in the past while assembling most Chinese lanterns! But the task was tedious, and not exactly easy, but not extremely difficult either! I would say that is my only issue at all with this product was that I had to put the globes on & I was worried about tearing them! However, I am not taking any stars away for that as it’s not the first time I’ve had to assemble a product, and the quality of these lights outweighs my assembly issues! However, like I said, you will want to take your time and be cautious, because even though the material is rugged, it also has a delicate design an the plastic piece that surrounds the bulb and pops into the holes on each end of the lantern was difficult at times to put in place as the material is very tight, and the globes are small (the diameter of each Lantern Ball 2.9″ inches) and if not careful, probably has a chance at going through the material! With time & care there shouldn’t be an issue and the end result is a beautiful strand of lights!
With that said, the lights have truly exceeded my expectations! I’m happy with these lights and would highly recommend these to anyone looking for great lighting without the wires!
