Nostalgia Rules at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater

I’ve expressed my love for the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios before… I honestly don’t care what the food taste like there. Yeah, I know it’s a restaurant so the food should factor in a little bit, but for me it’s the atmosphere of this place that makes it a must-see every time I visit the Studios. I mean, think about it – on a 91° summer day – where else can you go to a 50’s style drive-in theater, eat dinner, enjoy a Yuengling draft beer or three (a real treat as we can’t get Yuengling in the Midwest) and watch old sci-fi movie clips on the big screen on a beautiful 70° evening (well at least it feels like a 70° evening…)? Nowhere else in the world as far as I know. It is truly a one of a kind experience and I love it.
As for the picture – five shot handheld bracketed HDR. Not the greatest representation of an HDR photograph, but without a tripod it’s about as good as I can do…

A couple familiar Star Wars characters remain in the very popular Star Tours queue, after the 2.0 update. The updates were very tastefully and well done, in my opinion. Excellent job Disney Imagineering.

This was part of the view from right outside of my room. There was an open courtyard here as well; where they would actually play movies at night. But for some reason, this direction really captured my attention; even during the day. I also spent quite some time shooting near the open gate that’s to the back-left.
