A new dining destination has arrived on St. Pete Beach. Compass Grille is looking to provide a fresh culinary experience for Tampa Bay visitors and locals alike. The American-style restaurant now serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, featuring new menu items as well as a small plates menu available at the bar.
Rocko Colton, Restaurant Chef, has been working with Executive Chef Jimmy Christiano and their team to cultivate a new menu that takes food in a new direction. “I might be the chef, but I like my cooks to shine. So, when you come in you’re not just eating my food, you’re eating our food,” said Colton. When it comes to personal recommendations, Chef Rocko states you can’t go wrong with a Classic New York Strip Steak. If you are looking to be a little more adventurous, he suggests the Tequila Citrus Jerk Chicken including fried plantains with “a little tequila, a lot of citrus – it’s fantastic.” The restaurant also features many seafood dishes including specialties with fresh local Gulf grouper and scallops.
Additions to the menu also include an expanded selection of fine wine, beer and spirits. Local craft beer is a standout; Compass Grille sources from Tampa-based Cigar City Brewing and Florida Avenue Brewing, as well as 3 Daughters Brewing from St. Petersburg. “We decided that we need to branch out and get a little more of the local flare and local flavors in here,” said Colton. Seasonal cocktails and an expanded wine list are also now on offer.
