   I absolutely love this wonderful book! Mary Lou has beautifully captured all of the beautiful things that nature has to offer on Longboat Key. Whether you love the white sand beaches, the sea life and shore birds, shells, exquisite sunsets, the beautiful colors of the Gulf of Mexico, it’s all here to enjoy. Her photography reflects the love of her subject matter in each photo. For those of us who are still dealing with the never-ending winter, this book will take you to a place you can dream about and plan your next trip. Or, maybe think of staying. This book will surely provide many photos to take you to your “happy place” for meditation, yoga, relaxing to sleep, or just a chance to relax and enjoy the view. Thank you Mary Lou!

   Mary Lou Johnson has truly captured the essence of the beauty and magic of Longboat Key. Her pictures take you to another place away from the hustle and bustle of everyday-a place that is calm, serene and peaceful. It is as if you can hear the sounds and feel the warmth of the sun and the sand beneath your feet through her images. What Mary Lou has photographed in The Lure of Longboat Key stays in your bones and in your dreams long after you have finished losing yourself in her book.

   For those of you who live on Longboat Key or have ever visited it, this book captures all the beauty, excitement and fun of an island the residents call paradise. And if you happen to be an arm chair traveler these spectacular, award winning photographs will warm your heart and make you feel as though you are running through the sand and stepping into the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico. This is a beautiful book about a beautiful place.
