  1. I was there on Wednesday June the 26. At around 7 or 6 a guy hooked a BIG shark sadly it went under and broke the line the rod snapped back and he went flying

  2. Sorry for late response. Haven’t been on in a while. Since the water is pretty cold, there are limited fish there right now honestly. I know there are a lot of sheepshead around and your best bet is probably live shrimp as close to the dock as you can. Check the Clearwater Pier 60 website and the fishing report to see how the fishing has been. Scented shrimp artificials and Scented crab artificials work really well for them too. Hope this helps!

  3. okay i am going there in a week for christmas break what should i have as bait or will lures work and what kind of line i think 10 lb test should be okay

  4. Lol, atleast don’t rock a spinning rod with a conventional reel! Also, why would I wish you didn’t know what you’re doing?

  5. He probably had another ray, kid was using a spinning rod with his shitty conventional. He obviously didn’t know what he was doing. I have hooked Jewfish at pier60 but I don’t think they will spool you. The one I hooked was like 250-300lbs got him to the surface then released him.

  6. Thats def not true go ask any of the professional saltwater fisherman who have hooked up on a jewfish. I have hooked up on several and they do the same thing everytime run then spool. I have only caught 8 off the Clearwater Pier.

  7. Jewfish sink like rocks, they cant spool u unless there’s a bottomless pit underneath them, think of them as underwater tanks

  8. And have it line to line with a small hook. During the day there are big cobia roaming the pier and they are caught on mainly pinfish live or cut under float or on bottom. Tarpon sometimes will make a showing in the morning as they roll or boil the surface feeding. float a good size greenback or pinfish as far as you can and you might get a chance. There are grouper straight down off the pier near a lot of structure so yo might lose equipment fishing for them and the like all baitfish live, dead

  9. Yes A Jewfish is another name for Goliath Grouper. It depends on what you are trying to catch. At this time of season, there are monster snook under the lights on the pier at night. Best time is at a high tide as far down the pier as you can go and fish a free lined live greenback, pinfish, ladyfish, or mullet (mullet mainly has to be caught somewhere else because not a large number are there and you cannot cast net off pier or beach. Try to have 30lb-40lb braid with 30lb fluorocarbon leader.

  10. What exactly is a jewfish? Is it just another name for the Goliath Grouper? It was probably a larger amberjack; also you’ve been catching them, which is a sure sign there should be larger jacks out there. They’re notorious for spooling unprepared reels due to their strength, speed, and agility. I’m going to this pier in about a week or so. I’ve caught plenty of 40-60 lb black drum and redfish at Galveston. I have heavy tackle but it is not deep sea heavy. Any advice or tips on catching a huge

  11. I have caught them also but the thing that broke me off was running to fast to be one thought if you listen closely in the video you can hear my drag running.

  12. The fish that broke you off is the Jewfish that are out near the buoy off the northeastern most part of the pier. I fish out there all the time and have caught several. They are usually caught in late January only though.

  13. cool. going to clearwater beach in like a week and a half. wanted to fish the pier last year but never got around to it. definitely doing it this year. thanks guys.

  14. There are kingsfish, cobia, trout, snook, tarpon, and a couple big barracudas around the pier. Groupers are under the pier and you will need heavy equipment to catch them because they will take you under structure. Best fish for Summer is spanish mackeral, pompano, flounder, trout, tarpon and cobia. ( There are a lot of sharks but pier 60 will not allow shark fishing because of beach and tourist but accidental hookups and releasing is fine.

  15. Hey Rcurrier813 The bigges i think we have caught there would be tarpon can bet up to 200lb not good eating tho and the best eating i would say either cobia, grouper and mackerel!

  16. nice videos keep them coming. i enjoy pier fishing alot. Was wondering what other fish not recorded have you caught their? biggest, best eating? thx

  20. Been here 3 times from the UK stayed at the Hilton had a great time, a bit quiet but maybe just what you need after time in Orlando.

  21. Omg Clearwater Beach was soooo much fun!!!!!!! I just didn’t like all the birds attacking me for my cheez-itz >:|

  22. no oil effect and no green grass you speak of. watch our videos! and subscribe to our channel to get all the pinellas county updates

  23. I have a question for anyone watching this video and knows alot about the Tampa area. A couple years ago, I went to Panama City beach,in June. Half way through our vacation. This dark green slim looking plant, they call “JUNE GRASS” totally engulfed the entire beach swimming area.It was auful. And no, I am NOT talking about the typical Sea-weed. Anyways, if you know what I am talking about.Has this effected Clearwater Fl? Also, what about the oil spill in 2010,any effects here??

  24. went here for 1st time ever from NY, loved it !! It was a great 4 day getaway !! Will definately go back!! Shepards resort was party central !! 🙂

  25. This beach is awesome! I dont know why he says its right in the center of tampa bay…….its not part of the bay, its on the gulf shore……

  26. am0 esa plaza se la recomiend0 vivi m0ment0s inolvidable ademas muy tranquil0 quiero regresar a disfrutar esa brisa

  27. The fact you don’t know is cause you are uninformed DELIBERATELY by YOUR GOV. They don’t care what you eat or acquire as far as diseases. JUST more tax base for your recovery if that’s possible.
My brother n law has product in that Gulf attempting to accumulate anything, he’s there daily. Knows all about what’s transpiring Showed me the MAP studies from Hawaii University how far the OIL has traveled. Their findings was OIL last spring was around Florida and up to the Carolina’s

  28. Sharks, Whales, Croc’s, BP COREXIT will get you first. jump into that pool of chemicals, go for it TAKE a video for me of you swimming in YOUR Precious Beach. Clear Water is beautiful to bad it’s beach’s are polluted, having a home on that beach is an OXYMORON
With the pollution from China/Japan on US western shores & BP’s Poisons in the GULF and EAST Coast they surrounded US with man made chemicals. NOW you are properly informed.

  29. The OIL from the Gulf is NOW flowing above NC. COREXIT was deliberately poured into the GULF.
For you to say didn’t come close impossible . For your safety have that polluted water tested. NO WAY would I swim anywhere in that GULF Especially St Pete and Clearwater. SEA FOOD? NO WAY BP shut down all SEA FARING Commerce in the GULF. BP is a New World ORDER member, anti america. Greedy Industrialist via GENOCIDE
NOW Prove me wrong, as I watch U Swim in chemicals. Gulf should be closed

  30. I miss the old clearwater from when i was a kid, now the so called “redeveloped” clearwater beach really blows, they tore down the shitty little 10-20 room motels that were located beachside and every time it would rain the shuffleboard court would flood and wed skip the shuffleboard discs on the flooded water, the oceanview cafe, had the best french toast ever but i went back last year and its under new management and the food blows and its overpriced stupid hoidy toidy hotel chains.
